I See Patterns - Not

If you want to get good at something you should paint it - a lot.  That seems pretty obvious.  I want to get more at ease at painting patterns. And yet I always seem to leave the pattern out. This is a cup with dots on it and the tie has diamonds.  See the pattern - neither do I.

Then I once I uploaded to the blog, I noticed  it looks like it split into two at the knot.

It looks like a pattern but nothing I ever saw before and yet I like it.
