Day 10 Chanel in Stripes

You would think that restricting yourself to one object would make painting harder but in fact it is the opposite.  The more you  restrict yourself, the more creative you become.  One  great example is the book Green Eggs and Ham.  The publisher, Bennett Cerf, made a bet with Dr. Seuss that he couldn't write a book with only 50 words.  You know who won.  I don't know if that is a true story but the art world is full of similar examples, from Monet's haystacks to modern day artist Kevin Macpherson's "Reflections on a pond"

So restrict yourself - you never know where it might lead.
