30 in 30 Chanel and the Aftermath

Dr. Seuss had a $50 bet with his publisher that he couldn't write a book using only 50 words.  The resulting book was the well loved "Green Eggs and Ham".  I am not suggesting that everyone go write a book with a limited vocabulary, but having constraints does sometimes forces you to be more creative.

The challenge of just painting one object led me to go from this

Day 1

to this

Day 18

I would not consider any of the paintings I made saleable or something I was proud of (I am proud of doing the challenge), but I found a new voice, and with that I am working on something that I think is of good quality.

And that is what the 30 in 30 means to me.

  1. I love this post! Love the first and last painting shown together! What wonderful progress you made! I also like the fact that you used this as an opportunity to focus on the exercise and not make masterpieces. Thank you for sharing your process...I am always looking for my voice. I think you have found yours!
