30in 30 Feb Day 11 - Tough Day

I started painting this at 9:00 tonight and considering the circumstances I think I did okay. I got the feeling that I was after -  two beings melding into one.
I live in Montreal and I have a son in Ottawa.  We have been trying to visit him but every time we want to  go there has been a major snowstorm .  We finally made it today and had a wonderful visit but the drive back was horrible.  We were in an ice storm.  To those of you who live in warm climates and have visions of winter sleigh bells  and fun snow ball fights that is not exactly how it is.  Here are two pictures of our car.  This is was just after we got home.  The car was not parked but froze as we drove.  The wipers could not keep the ice of the windows and the defrost just gave up.

It is stressful and tiring to drive in this weather.  So I am proud of myself that at 9:00 pm I started to paint.  So really I am thrilled to keep the challenge going.

I hate winter

20 Minute Challenge - Day 4

I have now reverted back to my childhood.  It is late Sunday night and I am doing my homework at the last minute. Plus ca change plus ca la meme chose (nothing changes).

I really rushed this - the painting and taking the photograph and now I have paint all over my kitchen.  This is exactly what happened when I was a kid but back then it was these stupid fountain pens they made us use.

I wonder if I will ever grow up.

20 MInute Challenge day 3

I think you can tell from this picture I didn't cheat on the time.  There is so much I want to fix.  Miss L. is really beautiful.

I won't show this to her mother.

20 MInute Challenge day 2

This one is killing me.  I really liked this.  It is loose and I think a big dramatic.  This is what happens when you use big brushes and lots of paint.  I think you can see by the strokes that I didn't fiddle.

I put down my brush after the buzzer went off.  The urge to fiddle is so strong now that it is almost as if I have an addiction.

I don't think I can control myself.  Is there a 12 step plan for nit pickers?

20 Minute Challenge Day 1

There is a 20 minutes challenge offered by Mary Gilkerson.  You start a buzzer and when it is over you are done. I am such a goody goody two shoes that I put down my brush in mid stroke. I am so impressed with myself with what I did in 20 minutes because I am not a landscape painter.

It looks like a road, it has a car and the rocks even look like rocks.  Boy I wonder what I could do in 25 minutes.
